Having been friends for many years and enjoyed countless skiing and sailing trips together, in February of 2016 we went to New Zealand for a month and toured both the North and South Islands taking in all the tourist attractions and the beautiful scenery. Full of new ideas and inspired by some of the lovely campsites we stayed at in New Zealand, we gradually hatched a plan to buy our own campsite when we came back to the UK .

When deciding  on our new venture, we were drawn to the exceptional setting of Holly Bush Park. Amidst peaceful, unspoilt countryside we instantly fell in love with this  often unexplored part of the West country.  The Blackdown Hills are carefully protected from major development, being an area of outstanding natural beauty and offer great opportunities for a more relaxed way of life.

After the holiday, we each put our house on the market and sold up so that we had our "pot" of money ready and waiting when a suitable campsite came up for sale. In February 2017 we viewed Holly Bush Park and decided it was right for us - plenty of scope for development and improvement and just the right size so we could run it ourselves and the rest ….. as they say...…. is history!

So … here we all are, never regretting our decision for a moment and thoroughly enjoying the many challenges and still talking to each other …….. (well, most of the time at least!)

Our Campsite

Currently we have just under 3 acres comprising gravel pitches and grassed areas - most pitches will accommodate a caravan or motorhome with an awning. There are plenty of electric hook-ups and ample space for tents.

In 2019/20  we plan to expand into the adjacent field which is 7 acres and will provide an additional  pitches, recreational areas and a wildlife pond.

Here are just a few snaps we have taken from walks locally, the walk up to the Wellington Monument, Taunton to Bridgewater Canal and pictures from the Campsite - we have several resident Pheasants too!  And of course "Reggie" the beautiful green VW which belongs to friends (we are soooo jealous!)

Holly Bush Park

Our caravan park attracts a variety of birds and wildlife and it is not unusual to hear nothing but the birdsong in gently rustling beech trees that surround the site.

We take great care to encourage the native wildlife, and  are committed to doing all we can to conserve the peace and tranquillity that surrounds Holly Bush Park

"The showers, wash basins, and toilets are excellent, spotlessly clean, and with plentiful hot water (no need for tokens or anything)"...JC
